Puerarin   is  the  dried   root   of  pueraria   lobata,a   leguminous   plant, which        is        extracted        by        boiling,concentrating,purifying,and drying.Puerarin      can      effectively      inhibit       bacteria,anti-virus,anti- inflammation,anti-oxidation,and       enhance       immunity,to        improve animal   production   performance,the   health   of    the    body,and   the quality  of  animal   products.

Research    published     in    2020     in    Frontiers    in Immunology   by   the    Key   Laboratory    for   Wuhan Polytechnic   University   Animal   Nutrition   and   feed science   shows   that,puerarin   could   decrease   the expression of N and  M genes of PEDV  in jejunum, ileum,mesenteric  lymph  node  and  colon,and  inhibit the replication of PEDV,it reduced the diarrhea rate of  piglets  and  the  contents  of  IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8  and NF-KB  in  intestinal  mucosa,improved  the  intestinal morphology  of  infected  piglets  and  alleviated  the decline  of  growth  performance,the  results  indicated that  puerarin  had  anti-virus  and  anti-inflammatory effects on piglets infected with PEDV.
